Topic: SME 5.1.2 will not boot

I got and old server running 5.1.2. But now it will not boot.

It halts when it reaches these lines:

Freeing unused kernel memory: 72 k freed
apm: get_event: Power management disabled

I have tryed to boot in Single User Mode (typing esmith single at the boot-prompt), but it halts at the same spot.

I got an emergency boot disk, but I don't know how to use it.

I just want to get a copy of some important files, that I got on the HD. After that I will drop the HD from a very tall building

any help? Please!
