ip port changing

 My provider blocks a lot of ports.  I know from other forums, and a previous linux freesco install that it is possible to listen at different ports, than the defaults (talking about ftp, ssh, www.)

So for example ssh whit putty should be 8022 instead of port 22.

Then the traffic should pass my ISP.  Below 8000 there is a lot blocked so..  Even when my provider provides a proxy server it is on port 8080 instead of 80.

Any Ideas how to do this with the 6 release?  The dyndns.org service seems to be correctly installed, it keeps my ip up to date.

Thanks for the help.

CHANGING PORTS

Thanks for response, already found out about the e-smith-custom directory.

I did not have the time to check it out complete.

Will try this evening to adjust http (your forum-question) about http traffic on 8080.

I already edited proftp.conf, but without any success.

Since no manual seems to exist about this, or no web-based-manag exists, I will try to find out and post it if success on others than http traffic. (ftp, ssh)

This worked out for me, i followed your post, and the web manager is working already.

SSH is the same procedure..
http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/Customizing

but then you need to the 10port file.  No idea so far for other web functions.

PROFTPD refuses to work on another port, anybody any ideas?? Already done the edits and it even is changed in /etc after this, but still no changes..

Thanks

Hey its me sme6

sorry I havent tried that but

I was wondering after you did that were you able to access your server manager through the sme box itself??? I can only see it through a browser for some reason. Whenever I try to access it from the sme box itself it pushes me back to the server console window.
