As foolish as it is we are trying to run our own dns server.
We have as reference the Oreilly book on dns & bind and thehow-to written by Allen (Public DNS Server HOWTO for E-SMITH 4.1.X)
Both the resources are helpful yet im having trouble making them work.
ie: Oreilly demonstrates the general zone is called db.[domainame] e-smith creates this from template files located in etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/named-ext.conf/
They seems to compile into /home/dns/etc/named-ext.conf
All the component files seem to look ok, yet im getting nslookup failures (which according to oreilly means my forward lookup zone data isnt what or where it should be.
Does anyone have any experience with public dns servers?
