Topic: can't connect with sftp (I've tried smartftp & winscp3)

Hi there,

Regular Ftp connections works but when I try to use port 22, connection fails.
It's the same thing on the e-smith box.

installed contrib is : 6.1 custom iso.
remote access allowed for local networks
Allow administrative command line access over secure shell : Yes
Allow secure shell access using standard passwords : Yes
Ftp access for local networks only.

Any idea ?

sftp works over port 22, it is ftp over ssh.  Can you connect via ssh?  If not, then that is where your problem is.

Yes SHH works without pb.

Here are the message that I have under smart ftp :
    Resolving host name 10.10.12.167...
    Connecting to (10.10.12.167) ->  IP: 10.10.12.167 PORT: 22
    Connected to (10.10.12.167) -> Time = 0ms
    Socket connected waiting for login sequence.
SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.7.1p1
    Connection timeout. No response from server.


I've tried to connect with regular user account, admin account and root account but same thing.

From sme box directly, when I use the command "ftp Ip_adress" I'm asked for user name and pw, when I specify the 22 port nothing.
