I am currently attempting to use the "Backup to workstation" function (not to be confused with the backup to desktop).  I have it dialed in to work and when I manually initiate a backup to my desktop computer, I get a folder with one RAR file in it about 7.27 MB big.  My server is currenly housing 6GB of info, and I seriously doubt that rar can compact the data that much....

I try to opent the rar file and I get an error, "Error unpacking rar file".

I have the backup set to split the files into 650 mb chunks, but it is not working.

Can anyone offer any tidbits of info.  I have searched the forums for the past couple of days searching for a HOW TO or any additional info...to no avail.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

What versiom sme server ?
What version backup2ws rpm ? (There was a new one for sme v6.0).

I have used backup2ws to backup 30Gb quite OK, split into CD size chunks, so it does work.

Why not try a small backup first a get it working right before doing a big backup.
eg create a backup job that just selects /root and back that up. It should only take a minute or two.

Have you entered the workstatiopn password and login (if needed) correctly ?

I am running SME 6.0.1.

I got the backup to workstation to work manually, however, the program will not do it daily at a set time during the day.  Does anyone know why or what I need to do for this to  become an automated backup process.

I would like the backup to start outside of business hours every night.  I have my settings to backup daily, at 8:00pm.  It still has not run successfully automatically.
