Is this correct? If so could be a fairly major issue!

Check Nightpirits e-smith-windowsupdate_cache contrib at

http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/nightspirit/e-smith-windowsupdate_cache/

Good luck, Ergin

Doesn't work on sme 6 ...

/opt/windowsupdate_cache stays empty

I have tried on SME 6.0.1 and all seems to work fine have tested with win98 and w2k both Ok.  This is great addin and will save a bundle of time.

Saw that this morning. I've said it before....for all you want to talk about United and their international profile http://www.audio.h12.ru/, they really seem to do business the right way. I'm interested to see just how much Kenyon had to do with these results, so next year will be interesting.

Thanks.  This contrib will be a big help here once that issue gets solved.  Let me know when you need someone to test it out.

Hello,

I think windowsUpdates caching is done on analysing URLs.

Here we speak french so we use french version of windowsUpdate ;) Maybe URLs are different and so the programm doesn't recognize them ....

What does think the author ?

Cheers

well first of all install the NiGhTsPiRiT contrib and then get IE to use the SME as a proxy, and that's it.
next time you download an update it will be stored, then start the same update on another machine, and you'll notice the speed difference.
it work's really well here at my work, and we have about 20 users.

hope that helps
cheers

I already use SME as my proxy, so that is great it will work well.

I will have to test it to see how it goes.

Thanks
