Tape Drive Backup on Network

I am trying to configure my e-smith 4.1 server to backup to a tape drive on a different machine.  I need to know three things:

1.  Where is the config file for flexbackup to map the tape drive since I have it on a different machine on the network?  Can this be done?

2.  Is there a more complete list of tape drives that work other than the two listed in the hotlink on the e-smith manual website?  I have a HP T20Xi 20 Gig tape drive.

3.  If I get this to work and need to restore, I noticed that flexbackup backups up the whole drive, but only restores specific data.  There is a comment that says;

 "The command line must be used if you want to restore the entire tape or individual files."

What commands would be used.  Does it store the backup as a regular .tar file like the desktop backup? If so, I presume I can use regular .tar commands to restore the whole drive.  This is important because I am using a lot of custom templates that require recompiling if I have to restore from a fresh install of e-smith.  I would like to be able to bypass having to recompile and setup all the custom templates.

Thanks for any help that is out there.
