vpn observations
« on: May 10, 2004, 03:28:39 AM »
I have noticed that I have varied sucess with vpn.
I am running a Windooze 98SE box behind a SME 6.01-01 gateway-server.

I can vpn into 5 different servers that are running e-smith 5.6 server without a problem, and ther is a mix of dhcp being enabled or disabled.

I have 2 servers that are running 6.0 final, and I can vpn into both of them most of the time, and they are both configured basicly the same. dhcp enabled.

I have 3 servers besides my own that are running 6.0-01, 2 of them are set for dhcp on the local side, and one has dhcp disabled. The only one of these I can connect to is the one that has dhcp disabled.

On my server, dhcp is enabled on the local side.

I am not sure if this means anything, but I am hoping that this might mean something to one of the experts.

Any thoughts?
