OK, I have read everything I can find on the site, and have tried every possible solution I can think of, and I still have a simple but debilitating problem on my SME6.0

Somehow, there is a block between my SME server and our remote mail-server

Its not in IPtables, nor anywhere else in the firewall that I can see, it might be in the hosts.allow file, but I cannot find where to edit that. It might be in the local networks settings, but they seem to be fine. . .

So now I am hoping one of you gurus out there who happens to be in the Philadelphia area can help me solve this at our site.

Let me know by email if you can help.

Thanks

A

If you provide as much details as you can instead of stating that you've "tried every possible solution", you might get help here on the forum as well.

Yes, that would be nice. I have actually posted the problem in detail several times.
Here for instance:

So far I have had some helpful responses, but noone has really been able to address a solution.

Some more specific info would be helpful, when you say that you can't access your remote mail server are you referring to your isp's pop3 server where you want to collect your mail from or an independent server from somewhere else? There are a few scenarios that may be the trouble depending on what you are trying to do, does your isp block any ports, is the 3rd party server seen as an open relay and is blocked for that reason, could be anything, without a detailed description of how you have things setup and what you are trying to achieve it's very hard to give you an answer. If you can take the time to describe things in detail then perhaps some more advice can be given.
