Topic: Which version? (6.0.0 or 6.0.1)

Hi there everyone... just wondering whether 6.0 is ok to use with the updates - or should I go and download the 6.0.1 ISO?  Keeping in mind that I have a slow 56K dial up connection

For more info on why I need to upgrade etc - Check out my previous message - that I stupidly posted in the wrong area... sorry about that (I'm definitely no expert

I've been going through these messages for days but can't find anything that helps make up my mind either way - other than I've already downloaded 6.0 ... and provided there's no security issues (there don't seem to be) I'd be happy with that... Your thoughts?

its your choice really. The difference between 6.0 and 6.0.1 would be that 6.0.1 just has a few bug fixes, tweaks and patches like most other linux distributions do with a .1 release

I'm still using 6.0 and works fine but for piece of mind it would be a good idea to upgrade to the latest.

But just check to see if Mitel are planning for a new release of SME soon. No point downloading a .iso that will be outdated within a few weeks. God I hate doing that.

I've decided to try the 6.01-01custom ISO - currently downloading... up to about 80% with 5 hours to go

Yeah pretty much every time I download an ISO, a new one is released a week later  but in this case, even though I hear there's a new one due soon, this server needs to be back up by tomorrow morning, so I can't really wait any longer and this custom ISO seemed to have a lot of features that would come in handy (without having to manually add the contribs)

My main concern was whether there were any security issues that needed updates on any of these releases - but I'm guessing if there were, they'd be mentioned somewhere on this site and I haven't been able to find any so... hopefully I can just install the Custom ISO and have no more rootkits installed but this time I'll keep it updated when any newer versions are available. (I *stupidly* was too busy to keep my 5.5 server up to date)

Though I hear there won't be anymore from MITEL - apparently 6.0.0 is the last one from them... it's now up to the opensource community to keep it going.


Anyway, I'd better get back to work.
