A simple domain configuration problem
« on: May 19, 2004, 04:11:37 PM »
I have set op a ekstra internal server for testing new contribs ect. To make it testable from outside my local network I have registere a domain that I want routeded through my regullar SME 6.0 server.

Here is what I did:
1. I installed the test server as "server-only" (it is running om VMware)
2. I made a setup on my gateway, where the new virtual domain first was setup to point at an ibay, which I then altered to make it point at the test servers ip-address.

In my book that should make it possiable to enter the domain and get routed to the test server. But instead I get the content of the ibay, which it was originally was set up to. I can see the server locally if I just enter the servername (not the domain name) in the browser. But if I use the domain (no matter whether locally or externally) I get the ibay.

My question is: Is there some kind of post upgrade I should have done? Or is my idear of the way to set this up totally wrong?

I hope you can help.

hi.

have you tried to make a "subdomain" to your primary domain just to se if it goes through?
just add a host, and set the visibility to global.

if its just for testing purposes it will be good enough i guess.
how did you make your server point to the testserver?
