I have installed the custom 6.0.1-01 ISO and when using webmail for the first time I get the following error:

A fatal error has occurred:

DB Error: connect failed

[line 108 of /home/httpd/html/horde/lib/Prefs/sql.php]

Details have been logged for the administrator

Where can I start looking?

This is a known issue.  If you search for webmail you will see a lot of info on how to fix this.  Or, go to the bugs and browse the resolved ones.

The issue is that your horde password is using some invalid characters.  You can reset the PW back to horde or take the correct steps to fix it.  

If you need more info, let me know and I'll dig it up.

I followed the guidelines described in bug tracker ID0000012 and it worked:

The fix is to upgrade to
e-smith-horde-1.10.0-02.noarch.rpm
e-smith-mysql-1.10.0-02.noarch.rpm

Then, if you are still suffering from this issue, do the following:

/sbin/e-smith/config delprop horde DbPassword
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/conf-horde-startup
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/conf-turba-startup
/etc/init.d/mysql.init restart
/sbin/e-smith/expand-template \
/home/httpd/html/horde/config/horde.php
/sbin/e-smith/expand-template \
/home/httpd/html/horde/turba/config/conf.php

I have done all of these fixes now when I try to login to webmail it just clears my password and sits there... any ideas?

I had the same problem when I upgraded to 6.0 (A subsequent fresh install of 6.01 worked fine from the word go).

On my upgrade box I tried all of the posted advice and none worked. I solved it by deleting the table using the SQL admin tool (don't ask how, it was seat of the pants / Google search stuff - I know nothing about SQL).

I then re-ran the post upgrade scripts as per the forum posts and all worked.

Just to reiterate that although it worked for me, I have absolutely no idea what you could break (I think I lost my webmail settings, but I only had a few users on it at that point). Last resort

i had the same problem, and i solve it restarting mysql damenon

Hi All

Just used this fix. worked very good.

My e-=smith has now been upgraded since 5.1 or is it 5.5 and still running fine on a p3 450 with 256 mb mem and 80gb hdd.
