Lets say I am wanting to block anyone within our network access to a specific site, for example "www.ebay.com".

Does anyone know an easy way to do this and if there is a rpm for the server-manager made for something of this nature?

You can use squidguard for this (search on squidguard you will find more info)

I installed squidguard and I am testing it.  

I put myself on "Restricted Access" and found that I cannot go to google but I can to to yahoo and msn.....

That doesnt make sense, does anyone know where I can remove google from the blocked sites?  I know there are a bunch that are included in the black list

Second, If I remove a site from the blacklist and download an updated blacklist, will it reverse my customizations?

I tried adding google to the trusted URL but that didnt work.

Second, Does anyone know how to customize the Access denied page and the contact info on that page?

Currently it says "proxymaster@foo.bar"

Yes we had google denied other day but you can change that by checking out the http://yourserveripnumber/squidguard

No if you remove certian sites than they stayed removed reguarless of new updated blacklist as they are kept on a different list

Also you can edit the access denied in iirc...

/etc/squid/errors

I rember answering someone elses post to this a while ago

However, the error page encountered when going to a restricted site is

302 Access Denied

Access denied
Supplementary info :

URL = http://www.ebay.com/

If this is wrong, contact
proxymaster@foo.bar

I do not want that contact email address and I do not know where the "302 Access Denied" html page is.....

I have found the file I need to edit.  

For all of you who are having the same issues, the file is located in

/home/e-smith/files/ibays/Primary/cgi-bin/

The CGI file referenced is "blocked.cgi"

You can edit this on through the server to accomodate your needs.
