I know this may not be relevant, but I've connected my XBOX running XBOX Media Center to my SME server through samba.  I just told the XBOX what the domain name was, created a user on the SME server and also created an iBay for videos, pictures and music etc.

Works pretty well on my setup using a 100MBit lan, Athlon 750 in the server and 60GB hard disk.

thanks for the info   , is there any other else have  an idea, i just want to put the video files to my SME and i want the user to view it on streaming mode, i dont want it to be copied in there local machines, sort of a streaming server but user can select what they want on the http page, like a launch.com site

SME is based in RedHat 7.x.
