anyone know where I can find this?

here is what I want to do
the office has a number of people, with roaming profiles, using outlook express but we want to use a shared mail address book. outlook express dosent let us do this so if a contact in the address book changes we want it to update for all users. eg shared contacts.

Is there another mail client that has this sort of setup?
we are hoping to transition the workstations over to Linux in the near future so don't want to use Outlook.

can I setup an LDAP directory on SME for external contacts?

What do others do?

Hs anyone successfuly used this HOWTO on a sme v6.0 or v6.0.1 server (I know it says v4.1.2 or v5.1.2), just wondering

Alternatively does anyone have a suggestion on how to implement a shared address book that can handle external addresses also ?

Isn't this exactly that Ray? I am reading through it right now and it looks like what I am looking for also. I have a test server here but have a question that I need answered before I begin:

Q. How do I find out which perl modules I already have installed and their version numbers?

Once I get that answer I am going to try and follow the howto and see what I come up with. I will reply back to this thread with what I find out.

Another question I have:

Q. Is there a way to only show certain users in the LDAP directory?

I have 3 users that I don't want to show up in the global addressbook when an all mail is sent, I don't want them to receive the all mail and I don't want them in the addressbook but I do want them to have an email address on the system.

You can do a rpm -qa | grep perl  and you will be shown all the modules that have perl in the name.
