Unreal Tournament on e-smith...
« on: September 10, 2001, 09:17:16 AM »
Has anyone tried to install Unreal Tournament on an e-smith box?  I want to set one up as a dedicated server, but i'm a little new to Linux... I can do some basic stuff, but the install for this game is a little over my head...

Thanks,
Joe

I installed a Counter Strike Server on E-Smith and never had trouble.

Maybe will I install a Unreal Tournement server someday.
Surely sooner that I think ;-)

Just send me an email and I will tell you the way
to do it... I think i'm gonna try this weekend !
or maybe next weekend

Me again !!!

There is apparently no "COMMAND LINE" UT Server...
You must install XFree and all its librairies...
I would hardly disadvise you to install XFree on your E-Smith Server.

Just install UT as Dedicated Server on a workstation and forward
the port on you server...

I'm not doing it since I have no need to have an UT Server.. sorry

Hope this helps

Hi WXP

Just wondering what specs the e-smith server that you are running counter strike on is....would also like to have some info on how you installed it and where to get the right counter strike server software from.

Nice 1

Hi,

Thanks for all the input.  I've actually found a web-site (http://ut.congiman.com/settingup.html) that explains how to install it without X-windows.

There is a huge list of libraries that you have to install though...  So I'm working my way through it with my limited Linux knowledge, just to see if I can do it.

Thanks again,

Joe
