HDD raid mirroring
« on: September 10, 2001, 10:31:23 PM »
I have installed e-smith with hardware raid mirroring. i have 3 identical 2GB SCSI drives. The basic problem is that I installed it so that it mirrored the data, but what i wanted was that i could use all 3*2 GB of drive. Am I sopoosed to choose software raid mirroring to have all (or at least 2 of them working) hard drives working. At the moment sda1 holds 15 MB of data (only boot record), sdb is entirely emty, sdc holds 1.2 GB of data. As I am used to windows this is quite unusual for me.

Is there some kind of a way to do it without formating all the hard drives because im quite satisfied with the current settings.

You've posted this question before, and I answered it then.  Take a look at http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=2282.msg7634#msg7634 for my answer.
