CD-burner as backup
« on: September 19, 2001, 05:58:35 AM »
I have looked around the site and all I have found for backups is using a tape.  Is there a howto for e-smith for using a CD-burner?  I have found the linux cd burning howto, is there nothing specific for e-smith?  Once I configure the CD-burner can I then change how the backup manager function works, it would seem that I can based on what I have read by inserting the cd-burner for the tape drive

Now I feel stupid,

I was only searching back 30 days,  I did not change the drop down when I was looking for info.   There is some stuff but there is not a how-to and no rpm with both the iso maker and then burner software, nor a way to add it to the e-smith-manager.  I guess I will work on this and put together a how to and RPM.

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=19656.msg77578#msg77578  this has the same problem I am having

http://www.nber.org/cdrecord.html  has some stuff as does
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/CD-Writing-HOWTO.html

It has been so long since I have written any code for *nix.  I am now doing CORBA for windows :(
