Ibays and drive mapping
« on: January 13, 2005, 02:00:45 AM »
Hello All.  I have a strange ibay issue.  On a SME box I recently upgraded, I had a group, called GROUP, pointing to a ibay called ibaygroup (for example)  Under the ibay group were the typical cgi-bin, files, and html directory.

Somehow we managed in the past to map directly to the files directory, so our windows URL path looked like

\\server\ibaygroup

to get to our files.

After reloading, using a backed up configuration via the restore from desktop function, we can no longer access the directory via

\\server\ibaygroup

We now have to use

\\server\ibaygroup\files

Can someone suggest how I might access directly the /files directory, or offer any suggestions on reducing the URL path.

Hi,

go to server manager/information base and disable "Execution of dynamic content (CGI, PHP, SSI)" for that particular ibay.

BTW, thanks for your reply.  I ended up deleting the ibay, and recreating it with group access, Write group, and read group, and no CGI.  It worked like a champ.

Another reason to like SME, great people helping people!

I'm having the same problem, but I don't have cgi etc activated!

this changed one time overnight, and when I go to smb.conf and change it back to the original setting then it will change again a few days later....

I do not understand this. What changes do you make directly in smb.conf? smb.conf is templated and changes in there will be overwritten whenever this file is re-generated again.

I changed the link to the ibay from
\\server\ibaygroup\files

to

\\server\ibaygroup\
