I've recently re-installed SME Server after a long absence. I had to stop using it because I got a satellite connection and couldn't get it working back then.
Anyway, I have the connection working now, and everything is just great (although it's running on v5.12. shame it's not a newer version, but, hey, it's working!)
The problem I have now is this: I can't seem to disable port 80 to external traffic. I tried installing the service panel, but disabling httpd stopped the server-manager from working too. It seems that all the services, httpd, httpd-admin and httpd-e-smith all control the httpd service and no matter what I do, I can either disable http all together or not.
Does anyone know how I can stop people accessing port 80 from external traffic, while not affecting the server-manager. Is there a way of separating httpd and httpd-admin, so that one controls external sites, and the other controls just the admin system?
I remember from previous experiences that I would receive a lot of traffic trying to hack into the web server, and while it's nothing but annoying, I still have to pay for any incoming traffic!
Thanks, in advance, for any help/suggestions
