help with bellsouth dsl, please
« on: October 26, 2004, 08:40:58 PM »
Hi All,
I have recently moved my home office into a "proper" office and I am having trouble getting my sme server to work with bellsouth dsl. When I was at home I had Road Runner and never had any problems, but Brighthouse do not have service in the building where I am at. I did a search and found this thread http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=17925.0 I have bridged the Westell modem and tried all the other suggestions in this thread but to no avail. I have a static IP address from Bellsouth. With the modem bridged I can use a Netgear router to access the internet and as a temporary measure I have set my SME as server only behind it. But I want to put up a web page on the SME server, I have forwarded port 80 to the SME server and it works OK for a couple of hours, sometimes a day or two and then I have to reboot the server and it works again! Can anyone help me to get my SME server to connect as a server/gateway?

Thanks in advance.

Have you taken a look at that log file mentioned in that post? What does it say?
