Topic: Problems with Webmail on SME 6.0

Hi,

I am having problems with webmail. I have upgraded from SME 5.6 to 6.0. My upgrade was successful but webmail is not working.

I have Webmail configured as https access. I am getting the following error message

A fatal error has occurred:

DB Error: connect failed

[line 108 of /home/httpd/html/horde/lib/Prefs/sql.php]

Details have been logged for the administrator.

Would I need to blow away the SME server and start a fresh install??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is mysql running (or MySQL if you have upgraded)?

/etc/init.d/mysqld start (if it isn't)

I had a similar problem after updating from 5.6 to 6.0.  I found the fix below that worked for me on one of the formums (I had copied the text to a file and saved it and have not been able to find the orginal message to provide a link):

This was the series of commands that made it work.
The password is set to "horde" as it was before.
This was taken from bugs-forum and tested on two
machines. Futher testing required

/sbin/e-smith/config setprop horde DbPassword horde
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade

A reboot was also advised. I am not sure if it is
needed. I did not reboot.

I did do the reboot just to be safe.
