Thanks for the reply.
The mission goal is to be able to edit the index.html file remotely either via the Internet or other PCs within my local network. There will be few and limited occasions in which I will be able to physically sit in front of the SME box itself so access and updates really need to happen via some type of remote access.
Using my local area network, I can access the folder in which index.html is located, open it in an HTML editor program but when attempting to save the changes back, a permissions error seems to arise. But, accessing the folder to start with requires me to log in (username/password) so I'm already "in" so to speak when editing is occuring. It sounds to me like I have "read" access but not "write" access. Can I not set my username permissions to "full access", i.e. do anything when I log in via a browser as "admin"?
As I said in a previous post, I'm new to SME. I have had quite a bit of experience with Fedora though.
