Topic: turning off iptables

I am running SME 6.0.1 and have a hardware firewall in place.

By default SME is running iptables version 1.2.5

I would like to turn off iptables (presumably this needs to be done from a prompt) and then edit the relevant starup file so that it doesn't start again after a reboot.

I searched this site, but can't find anything.

If i do recall it right there is a question on the initial config screens where you can delegate the firewall to another ip if that helps. But i don't recall if it is related to the "server-gateway" mode or to the "server-only"-mode.
