Topic: using another mail server

Hello,

i have installed e-smith 4.1.2 with success and i have problem to configure it:
i already have a mail server (with sendmail and the users account are already created) and i would like to use it instead of the one on my e-smith server.

Is it possible ?
if yes, how can i do?

The way you will configure your e-smith server DEPENDS on how you answer the questions below.

How would you like to "use" your current sendmail server?  Does this mean you want your clients to get their email FROM the sendmail server?  Or do you want e-smith to fetch the mail from the sendmail server and deliver it to each e-smith user account you have setup?

Yes, it seems almost anything is "possible" with e-smith (Linux) - it just depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

I'm sure if you give us more information we will be able to help.  I know there are a lot of e-smith (and general Linux) "experts" monitoring this phorum, and someone will have your answer.

I would like to use the users acount which are in the sendmail server and not in the e-smith server!
i use e-smith server in server only and it is behind a firewall: which ports need i to open if i want to use the webmail?
