Can the new version be used as a terminal server? I use 4.1.2 for my network and want to change to a terminal server type system.

Thanks!

No. If you are interested in a terminal server, I recommend looking at http://www.ltsp.org or http://k12ltsp.org

My recommendation would be to use two servers. One running e-smith and the other running k12ltsp and ThinkNIC terminals.

Thank you!

I tried RH7.1 and the webmin would not install. It asked for allot of dependancies and even after I installed them it asked for the same ones again. The ltsp site talked about having to burn some eproms, and I wanted to stay away from that since the machines would have a HD in them.
Do you have a "step by step" for this?

Robert/Benoit/Neil,

I am very interested in setting up a "Terminal Server" environment using SME V5 (and/or another Linux TS server) and thin-clients (old Pentium based 166's, w/64 megs RAM, 2.5 hard drives).

Could you provide some more information or "tips" on your own expereince or things you learned in the process?

Also, do any of you have any expereince running VMWare on thin-clients?  (There's no way for me to get rid of Windoze totally.)

Thanks,
Patrick
