I've broken it
« on: January 01, 2005, 11:14:33 PM »
I have a done a new system install and I now can not get my workstations (XCP SP2) to log onto the domain.  I did not do a system backup and restore but just wiped everything and then went from scratch.

When I try and log on from a workstation to the server it will not allow me because the user security codes do not match those on the new domain I have set up.

I tried deleting the user profiles on the workstations but no luck.  I also created a brand new user id and tried to log on but no luck.

I have not touched the workstations and they were working perfectly before the reinstall.

I used the update script version 3 after the new install and before I created the users  again.

Help would be much appreciated.

Laurie,
You need to re-establish the trust relationship between the server and workstation. This is done by removing the workstation off the domain and joining it to a workgroup (just make up any name for your workgroup) make sure all network shares are disconnected then reboot and try to rejoin the domain.
