I would be very grateful for any advice on how to further troubleshoot this problem. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Every few days I see that the HDD light on my 5.6U6 box is lit and stays that way. I am using software RAID. I have nothing sent from the raidmonitor contrib and cat /proc/mdstat shows OK with nothing down or rebuilding. I have tried disabling all running services and the light stays on. I use TOP and there is nothing out of the ordinary. Not sure what to look for in logs but shutting down all services was my first step to see if any one service was causing problems.
I believe that it MAY have started way back when I used HDPARM to optimize some settings but not sure.
After rebooting, everything is OK for a few days. Here is a ps as mentioned I stopped all services but there are some things in here I don't know how to stop:
