Internal server (6.0.1), single nic (server only). All it is doing is smb services for ghost imaging of desktop and laptop machines, and serving up music stream via netjuke for those of us on the helpdesk.

I found a post on how to turn off appletalk (atalk). Is it safe to assume that the same syntax used to disable it can be applied to other services as well?
Ie; [root@imaging smb.conf]# /sbin/e-smith/config setprop atalk status disabled
... that disables atalk.
I'm looking at the following based on this output:
[root@imaging smb.conf]# chkconfig --list | grep on

spamassassin - no mail being used on this machine
lpd - not planning on printing from it...
apmd - no need for pwr mgmt
isdn - no need here either
iptables - ??? don't think I need to have this one running - box is on a trusted network.
pcmcia - not a laptop
So could I safely do a:
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop pcmcia status disabled
... for instance and expect that to be turned off?
I'm just looking to free up memory / resources where possible to make the box a little snappier.

Thanks folks...
