Hi,
If I have an Exchange server that handles email, but I want SME to process the email (AV and SpamAssassin) before it get to the Exchange server how can I do this.
How can I build an internal MX record for my network?
In theory, I could haev all email from the Internet go to SME and then SME will forward it Exchange.... If I can build an MX inside SME that tells it the mail is to be forwarded.
BTW: You cannot search the for for the term MX because it's under three characters.
<=== I'm new here.

Open Server Manager console. In the menu on the left, under Configuration, click on Email. On this screen you can assign a Delegate email server. Enter the internal IP of your Exchange server here.
That's all you need. I run mine like this and it works great.

But does SME in this configuration do any processing?

That is, does it remove viruses & spam before passing the email on to Exchange?

I use this setup for several clients and it works well with one caveat - if Clam/Amavis/Spamassassin is used the email accounts need to be setup on the SME box as well as the Exchange box otherwise the system rejects mail for all users as it does not know of their email address. If Clam etc is not used it woks outta the box.

Hmm, I doubt it, but it may be possible depending on your Intranet config; more info please re mail server(s) setup, domains, & user layout on these servers.

Hello,
For example:
I have 2 domain . abc.com & xyz.com
I already have 2 email server in intranet and use port forward from firewall now . How can I setup a SME-server as email gateway/firewall server then Delegate the mail to existing 2 intranet mail server ?
Thanks,
Jack.
