Topic: Getting remote ip adress send to me with SME server?

OK - setting up this home server for a mate.
Set it up for VPN access my me only.
But hes on adsl and hence his ip address does change
So - was wondering, is there anyway to auto setup that I get sent  - at an external email account - his ip address that wanadoo give him.

I guess you should have a look to dyndns feature that should solve your problem

Thanks - thats what I thought

Been looking at clients - ipcheck seems the most popular but I am finding the instructions ons etting up not good. Seems to be aimed at those that have some past experience.

Can anyone help with this setup or is there a better - easier client?

Hi Mate
I set up heaps of Home users with DYndns.org and the client is already included in the SME server.

Go to www.dyndns.org and register for the free service (Gives you up to 5 Dynamic DNS Entries) then in the configuration of the SME box, put in the appropriate details and you're away!

I use DYNDNS on my windows box, but not on my Linux one. What client do you use?
