Topic: Seeing all files?

Hey
I connected a new mac to my sme server today via a router and all the networking aspect is fine, however there are certian files I CANT see on the server (through finder) that I CAN see when I look on the server through windows.

Are these files hidden on the server and for some reason  the Mac can't see it, but windows can??
