Topic: Primary i-bay hosting problem

New install of SME 6.0 - upgraded to 6.0.1

I copied php website into the primary i-bay, now whenever i go to i.e http://192.168.1.254 I get a sme login prompt and when i do login, my web page does not show links etc correctly.
I can even cancel the login, and same web response. I set up another i-bay, and copied data from primary/html to newibay/html and when i go to , http://192.168.1.254/newibay  -webpage shows perfectly. Is the primary perhaps set up with wrong security, or cgi disabled? How can I edit/check this?

Any help will be MOST appreciated, as I am starting to look a little foolish with the client!

ps I even tried to setup primary content as newibay, but that doesn't work either...
