Topic: Problem with squidGuard

I installed squidGuard last week and everything seemed to go smoothly.  It is blocking sites correctly but I am receiving the following message everyday that seems to be telling me the automatic update of the blacklists is not functioning properly:

04:04:56 URL:http://ftp.teledanmark.no:80/pub/www/proxy/squidGuard/contrib/blacklists.tar.gz [1950831/1950831] -> "blacklists.tar.gz" [1]
tar (child): blacklists.tar.gz~: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
cp: cannot stat blacklists/*': No such file or directory

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

edit the squidguard update script and place a ~ in front of the blacklists.zip so it reads ~blacklists.tar.gz then all should be well (restart squidguard or reboot your machine after yo make this mod though, you are correct in your assumption

Did you get this to work with SME v 5?  Did the script edit fix the problem?  If so, please list the path to the script.

Yes, it works fine with SME 5.0.  The file to edit (at least as it installed on my system) is /usr/local/squidGuard/supdate.  Once a week or so the file blacklist.tar.gz~ file that downloads does not have the ending ~ and the script fails because it is looking for it, but other than that there does not seem to be a problem.

The one thing I have found that does not work with SME 5.0 is the interface added to the e-smith-manager.  It worked fine under 4.12 but stopped working on my after I upgraded to 5.0.
