Topic: Problems reading mail - help needed

Hi all,

For a few days now, I can't receive mail from all my user accounts. However sending from these useraccounts goes fine.
An useraccount read mail that he sends to himself. Mail just seems to disappear (filtered).

The only account that is working properly is my "admin" account.

I use SME-6.0.1-1, the latest spamassassin rpm's from Jesper Kundsen and the latest updates from Dungog (email-management)
I use procmail, filtering with junkfilter & spamassassin.

It seems to me that it is a "filtering" problem but I have no clue where to search.

Please help!

have a look in current qmail log.
tail /var/log/qmail/current
or cat the file and grep the user name.

you might find that it thinks the .rcprocmail file is buggered. I am having this problem at present and trying to fix it....

if anyone else has a solution.... HELP!!

Thanks for your reply.

Because I did not know how to solve the problem, I did a fresh install of the SME-server. It took  me several hours but it worked.

As one of the last add-ons, I installed spamassassin. The problem occured again. I had spamassassin installed with 5 blacklist. When I removed them, the problem was solved.

So I think that it took to much time to check all the blacklists with as a consequence that a "time-out" occurs by my mail-client.

I now have only one blacklist (sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org) and it works fine.

hi again rein, I am too dependant on the web pages the server is putting out, dont want to kill it and reinstall (last time took 6 hours to get all the files back on the HDD and setup users / groups / domains etc)

I did an rpm -e on spamassassin, reloaded RH7.3 procmail and still having the same problem. think spamassassin broke something, will have another good look tonight.

If all else fails, I am in the process of building another machine as a mirror to main server, then will look at taking the problem server down this weekend.

Might have to do a re-install as well, dont like to. I prefer to repair the bloody thing instead. Learn more that way
