Intel onboard SATA S875WP1-E

I have been unable to install SME on this booard, it uses SATA Raid to control the drivers. The machine came with RedHat 9 installed, so I'm assuming SME can handle it as well. Has anyoned experienced it? It says it can't find HD's, asks me if I want to manually sellect it, but it never gives me a chance, and reboots... [neither 6.0.1 or beta 6.5a works],
Thanks,

That's not a safe assumption. SME is based on RedHat 7.3, and has an updated RedHat 7.3 kernel (from FedoraLegacy). There's limited SATA support (i.e. PATA compatability mode).

You might try tweaking your BIOS.

Agreed Charlie,
I also would also love to take your recommendation on using this hardware on workstation and take theirs for my server [another post], except that this is a client machine who bought it without consulting me. I have to say that SATA is a VERY bad decision on newer technology, not only due to the problem I'm having but also from following other threads on different foruns.
 :hammer:

Thanks for the reply!

Hy, guys!

Tx, for discusion about IntelĀ® Entry Server Board S875WP1-E. How about adding a SCSI U160 or U320 controler and SCSI disks?!?
