I was wondering if anyone has managed to fix the volume problem. I've tried getting alsa-utils, but I'm stuck at to which version will be compatible with the already installed ALSA...

The rest is working wonderfully!

i just installes all of the packages and i am not sure how to start sndconfig and from where. please help.

Another thing is that i am not sure if i need to have a sound card on my linux server or not?

if you can also provide me with some help of how to now configure netjuke to run mpg123.
