Hi ALL
I was given a AT&T 486 machine with EISA slots and no PCI. It came with a 3com Etherlink III 579 card but e-smith does not recognize it on install. I had an extra ISA 3com 509 card and installed that, re installed and still not recognized.
Searched though the forum and found a reference that e-smith does not recoginize non PCI cards. I selected manual config during install and picked the 3com card and still nothing. ran the ifconfig and it reports only the internal loop back......
Any help would be greatly appreaciated. I am new to linux and need to set up this machine for a charity. Thanks in advance.
