why is it that with a pppoe account and dynamic dns that e-smith5 still gives me an external static ip address?

i'm using the e-smith 5 machine to get me onto the net with a home DSL connection with a static ip . . .how do i get this to work?

i need to use pppoe and have a dynamic ip ?

what do i do?
