Topic: Installation Problem - Network Card

Hello,

I had a SME Server 6.0.1 on a 133 MHZ maschine with an old 3COM 100mbit network card.

Not I got a new system and want to install SME Server 6.5 RC1. My problem is now that the system doesn't accept the network card which was previosly running on that old maschine.

The problem is the same with a new 3COM network card.

Bios recognizes the network card because it is listed in the system configurtion with an irq.

When I want to configure the server it tells me that it does not detect a network card. Then there are two options.
- Keep the current setting: 3c59x
- Manually Select driver ...

The new system ist a celeron with 466mhz.

anybody knows what to do?

Isn't the 3c59x the driver for the 3com card? And when you can choose another driver what else is needed? Search for Red Hat 7.3 driver for you nic model and then choose the appropriate driver where it tells you.
