i picked this up from a friend. the manufacturer is out of business, and so there really is no way for me to update the software thats currently on it without going through hell and back... from what i can tell it sas its running justezy OS 6.2 which is there own little hack of redhat 4.2 i think? maybe 6.2.
the box has a 2x16 lcd and three buttons on it, 1 for browsing thorugh settings one for selecting it. and the third button is for shutdown. is has a lan and wan port on the back and a rs232 serial port. im trying to figure out if i can install the sme server. righ now to install the OS on this box, i have to first reset the box and hold down a button until it says boot from network. then i have to boot up a machine(im using my laptop) with the restore cd, and it reinstalls the os, VIA the laptop. is this at all possible in some form via contribs? thanks for any help
