Missing something?
« on: October 23, 2001, 12:01:41 AM »
I am new to the e-smith software and just finished installing it. I can't seem to get access to the server manager through the web browser. I can get to the default home page via http://my-ip-address/ but, keep getting "You are not authorized to view this page" when trying to access the server manager via http://my-ip-address/server-manager. I've searched the forums and the documentation. I must be missing something?

i'm new too, but i think you want to use the following urls:
http://my-domain/e-smith-manager
or
http://my-domain:980
(where my domain is the domain you set at the beginning of the configuration sequence when you installed [e.g. mycompany.xxx])
or
http://my-ip-address/e-smith-manager
or
http://my-ip-address:980

username admin
password to whatever you set it to when you configured.

I, too, am getting an error when trying to access the server-manager from a web browser.  I can access it locally through the text interface, but need to get to it from my desktop.

I get

You are not authorized to view this page

when I go to

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/server-manager

I get the index page when I access

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

so I know that Apache is running.

Any ideas?
