Hi all,

I have installed the MRTG - http://sme.swerts-knudsen.com/index.html?frame=http%3A//sme.swerts-knudsen.com/howtos/howto_6.htm

I have now stopped the use of the server in dedicated server-gateway mode as I have installed an m0n0wall on an embedded PC – Runs flawless.

But the MRTG still runs fine except the monitor on the external NIC, as this is not used anymore.

Now I get a mail every 5 min. in the admin mailbox:

SNMP Error:
Received SNMP response with error code
  error status: noSuchName
  index 1 (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.3)

                  community: "public"
                 request ID: 1665592533
                PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
                    timeout: 2s
                    retries: 5
                    backoff: 1)

SNMPGET Problem for ifInOctets.3 ifOutOctets.3 sysUptime sysName on public@localhost
 at /usr/bin/mrtg line 1491

WARNING: Expected a number but got ''

Anyone got an idea how to stop this, and furthermore how to remove the WAN/ADSL input on my MRTG report site http://hegnstoften.net/mrtg/ ?

Or in worst case, uninstall the contrib.?

Hi,

You should be able to just download the latest script and re-run it. It should then detect that eth1 is no longer in use. All old stats will be preserved.

Rgds,
