Topic: phantom dialups and failure to disconnect

I'm running e-smith 5 with the update 2 patches and I am getting random dialups to my ISP and no disconnections all day.  I have set the connect times to long and the mail checks are every 5 minutes during business hours.  The server even connects after hours when I told it not to by setting the mail check to never for after hours and weekends.  Any ideas?

Please help I'm dreading my next ISP bill.

Go to the shell and give:

ipchains -L -M

or

netstat --inet -n


To see what connections are made

that's expected behaviour

long keeps the connection up for 20 min
and you keep it active by the 5min interval requests

try setting no access for w/e night
