Will SME work as a name server?
Firstly I have never setup a name server so I don't know what is required. I just had a look at the control panel on the site where I bought my domain and it gives me the option to have a child name server. I can give a host name (name.mydomain) and then specify IP addresses to point at to use as a name server. This is not A Records or Name Server addresses as you would normally have to enter, this give you the option of hosting a name server. I'm just wondering, if I pointed at my SME box would it work? or do I need to install more software. I don't think I'd ever want to do this, more just wondering if it's possible. At the moment I have all my domains setup DNS hosting as A-Records, but I'm wondering could I point directly without the need for this on all domains?
