question...


have one primary IP and a block of 8 IP's
we would like to have three web sites we would like to associate 3 of those IP for now


www.computerbooksforless.cm
www.refurbcomputers.ca
www.computersupplyhouse.com


using I-Bays we would end up with something like www.computerbooksforless.com/reburbs


so how and where do we make the configurations for mapping IP address.


see I don't understand the e-smith template thing (etc/e-smith/templates).  For instance is we wanted to make a change to the httpd.config file would we create another httpd.conf file in the etc/e-smith/templates-custom or etc/e-smith/templates-user or etc/e-smith/templates-user-custom?

To make it simple...

You can provide the DNS's with the associated IP numbers and do it 2 ways (I Guess) ...

1 - Make a DNS entry for all domains and bind any domain to the MAIN IP
2 - Create seperate domains in seperate DNS sections with all 8 IP numbers. (don't know exactly how u should do this tho)

Last... Templates on the system should be adjusted in the templates-custom. Simply copy all things u find in /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf to the map /etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and fiddle around in all these settings. It seems not to be recommended to remove elements and leave only the changes there.. but I have had NO problems whatsoever with doing that.
