Topic: Multiple LANs to Internet via SME

I need to connect three old local networks via ISA 10MBits NICs  to the SME server which is
connected to Internet via a PCI 10/100MBits NIC ... The standrad configuraton utility seems not to be able to understand what I want !
Can someone help me ?

SME isn't really designed for this.  It is only designed for a single wan and a single lan.  As it is, I don't believe that SME will even detect the ISA nics.  I am not saying that it isn't possile, but it will take alot of hacking of the software to make it work.

You might try IPCop, or FREESCO.

Are you sure you mean networks?
Or do you mean hosts (actual computers)?

Anyway, that would make the difference,
between either getting a switch or a router that is...

Then hookup your networks/hosts + sme to switch/router.

Offcourse the routing would take some configuration, with subnet's and so on... I'm guessing you meant hosts though...?

As said before, you may experience problems with your sme if you use an isa nic in there aswell (local network interface),
best check the hardware compatibility list, it's...err...easy to find with search    )

You can alwas's modern PCI card's the most off thum are multi speed 10/100 Mb

You can try somting else to put on your local network card multie ip adressen in different subnet's it's tricky. and I agree you can better setup a dedicated router between the sme gateway and the other subnet's.

SME is not realy good enoff for that, but if you search only a month agoo I think there was somebody who has add a seccond IP adress to hie SME box.

If you can fix that then you must change on all of the subnet's you got a new gateway.

You must search on the net on Redhed document's how to add manualy hardware (netwerkcards) and how to config them becouse SME is based on Rehad 7.2 are 3 i think

There are really three networks (Unixware/Windows/WiFi) actually connected to a router running Linux Fli4l software and accessing Internet directly via this router. But I think that my idea of replacing the router with SME is wrong. With your help and all explanations you gave me, I will change my mind and place the SME server between the actual router and the Internet access box.
Anyway thanks to all of you.
I let you know how it works in this new manner.

I realy do not understand, but fore shure I do now
that SME will allow to run 3 diferent nets  192.168.x.1 (x= 1,2,3)etc on the same hub, I do run 192.168.1.x and the 44.153.72.x that is the radio amateur range, must use the server manager to activate the new ip range with no problems, I hope that this is the trill and hope that you ca understand my English

This is certainly possible if the three local networks are otherwise already connected via another router.  I do this.

If you have three networks (for example, 192.168.1.x, 192.168.2.x, 192.168.3.x.) all you need to do is add them under Local Network in security.  You will then be able to access the Internet gateway from each network.
