Hi

I am trying to connect to a vpn, their vpn server is SME Server 6.0.1

Now the problem we have is it connects when we are on the LAN where their sme server is. But anyone trying to connect from outside gets this windows error Error 619.

I have setup a number of these SME Server 6.0.1 Machines and they all work properly, and can connect via vpn externally.

I have checked over the settings etc.

Whats the port for VPN to open on the SME Server 6.0.1 Port Opening Manager.

Hi there,

As far as I am aware, the VPN port (1723) is opened by default on the SME Server. You mentioned you have setup a few SME boxes so I would presume you have but, have you enabled PPTP access in the server manager and on the user's account?

If they have an external router on the SME server you need to open the VPN port through that, pointing it at the external address of the SME [the address of the second network card].
