I'm a retired fart. I'm trying ot help the pastor at church get tehir server thing working. I don't know Linux. I'm just learning. The first experience I've had with it is doing this install. So please speak simple english so an old fart like me can understnad what you're talking about k.
They were running 5.6 and it worked fine. I got 6.0 and did the install. That seemed to go ok but it wouldn't connect for anything. I wrote down the information that was in the config file before I did anything and did a backup of what they were using before I did the install. At leat that way when it wouldn't connect I could just reinstall 5.6 from their old cd and put the backup back in place...
They want to upgrade to the newest one. I've seen people talking about 6.5 but can;t find it anywhere. Can someone tell me where to download it so I can burn it onto a cd to install from?
As well when I tried the 6.0 install it seemed ot go good. The lan would work so they could see each otehr and trade files between each machine and all.
but they couldn;t connect to the internet at all. I wrote down exactly what they used from 5.6 befoire the upgrade to 6.0 so I thought <ya right> that the install would be painless. Call me dense but it just wouldn't connect. I aked here at that time for help but all I got was technical answers that I coudn't understand to save my life. Can someone pleae talk to me in simple answers so a non geek can like me can know whatthe heck you're all saying?
