6.01 > 7 upgrade path?

So I have to setup a couple of firewalls and servers.

Although 6.01 is still doing a great job in places, I am hesitant to roll out new deployments.

I have been playing with Centos 4.1 and a commercial product called Astaro Linux which for firewall/av/spam/content filtering/vpn seems to be unbelievable but key word = commercial (I would rather donate to the cause then buy such!)

So we are all eagerly awaiting (and some great people participating in development of) the release of 7. The question is, how much consideration is being made to supporting upgrade installs? Probably not that much I imagine since there will be so many core differences and incompatable template/configs. I'm thinking it's probably worth stalling these roll outs if possible.

Another question, besides donations what if any ways can someone like my self with limited skills do to support the project?

Considerable effort is being made by developers and testers, see
http://sourceforge.net/projects/smeserver/
I gather 6.x to 7 upgrades will be supported.

Download 7alpha23 or whichever version is the latest released and test it, then report any problems to the sourcforge bugs page.
You will need to register as a sourceforge user but that is easy to do.
